The Williams Elementary Wildcat Chorus consists of members from second grade to fifth grade. Students participating in the chorus must exhibit high standards of academic excellence and citizenship
Expectations
- Students are expected be at rehearsal on time and remain for the entire practice. Rehearsal starts at 12:30pm and ends at 1:15pm
- Students are expected to be at rehearsal on assigned days (every Wednesday unless otherwise noted)
- Students are expected to bring a note signed by a parent or guardian if rehearsal has to be missed. Parents may also email Mr. Thomas at thomasmv@gm.sbac.edu or call the school, 955-6719, and leave a message as well. Students that have four unexcused rehearsals will be dismissed from the program.
- Students are expected to be on blue, green, or yellow for their behavior during the school day. Students are also expected to follow directions and be on the best behavior during after school rehearsals. If students are constantly on orange or red or can not behave at rehearsals, they will be dismissed from the program. I will use parent phone calls or parent conferences to avoid dismissal from the program. If the problem(s) have not been solved after speaking with parents then the student will have to be dismissed from the program
- Students are expected to bring their instrument, music, and a pencil to every rehearsal. Not having your music will be documented. Skipping practice because of forgotten music will count as an unexcused absence. Students will not be allowed to perform with the group if they have excessively not brought their music to rehearsals.
How to Take Care of Your Voice
Here is a really good article on how to take care of your voice. Some of the main points are to rest your voice, avoid dairy before singing, and drink plenty of water. Great article for children and adults. Please remember to always do what's best for your child.
